The trailer is finally here.

This last Friday morning as the children and I were having coffee and cocoa my hubby called and said if you want any say in where the trailer goes you had better head up to the property now. Wha…?

Nick, the mover, had called and said he was on the highway ready to turn off on our road.Sure enough, my 8 year old started getting really excited and dancing around, “Mom, mom! Those trucks with the heavy load signs are coming by”! So, I packed up my 3 munchkins and made it the 1/4 mile down the road in 15 minutes. That has to be some kind of record for us!

My hubby had just made it from work. Sure enough, there she was. I’d say in all her glory, however, we had an issue with her last week.

Nick called to let my hubby know that our 40′ x 8′ foot covered porch was built upon an older rotten porch and that it had started rotting and wasn’t in any shape to move.  The porch, which was our deal clincher, would have to be removed from the trailer so Nick could move it. Sniffle… sniffle..

For $15oo Nick and his crew would tear it down and dispose of it for us. Wha…? Obviously, my husband hard working hubby wasn’t going to pay that amount. So, he headed out at 10am, and with the help of an older very colorful and also hardworking gentleman in the trailer next door, starting tearing it down. Took them 8 hours just to get it torn down and in piles. However, it was out of the way and Nick could move the trailer now.

Phew…And, good to his word, he finally did.

So, there she sat in part of her glory. Best darn lookin’ 1968 trailer I’ve ever seen.

Now we wait. For the septic tank and drain field, 400 ft of trenches for power and water. This will happen Friday and Saturday. The well pump and pump house. This will happen over the next two weeks. Hubby’s putting in the footings today. Ultimately we will have power to the trailer first and water (fingers crossed) in a couple of weeks. Our driveway and porch for the trailer will be the last thing.

For now I wallpaper, disinfect and deodorize. Tonite we’ll bring the charcoal bbq up and do a little bbq’ing with the kids. Nothing like ribeyes in the privacy of your own home and company.  So excited I could do cartwheels.
