As of 12:35pm yesterday, the trailer is ours.
So is the rice cooker (& manual), toaster oven, hot pot, 30 year old microwave (& manual), coffee maker, three coffee carafes, numerous silver platters, electric tea kettle, numerous baking dishes, set of 5 mushroom canisters, dishtowels, washcloths, tons of hot pads, etc…. You name it. There are “treasures” here and there, set of 4 bone china bowls, china creamer, teapot & salt/pepper shakers, Tupperware cheese holder, Norwegian enamel-ware, metal colander, nut-chopper and more!!!
Please, don’t tell my hubby!
Currently the trailer, a 1968, 14′x54′, rehabbed Airstream is sitting in a 75 year old trailer resort on one of the largest and most undeveloped lakes in the Pacific Northwest. It’s a beautiful place! The resort is for elderly and does not allow animals and kids. However, they were pretty nice to my three little bullhorns yesterday. The girls and my task is to completely empty out the trailer of all things, big & small, before it can be moved in two days to our property.
This is not a hard task as most of the work is disposing of very old linens, rugs, ancient small appliances w/ spliced cords and taking the rest to Goodwill. The previous owner was very clean and what dirt there is, is dust. Lots of dust!!! Today I vacuum and dust every nook and cranny. I’d like to get it as clean as we can (w/out water) before moving up to our dust-bowl, I, a mean uh, property.
It’s finally becoming a reality that we did make this move for a reason, and soon will be living our own lives, making decisions for ourselves! Soon, soon…
On a side note, went into town to the store when we got back and among other things purchased some Tom’s Natural Original Deodorant, Honeysuckle Rose. The smell is wonderful. I’m very sensitive and this a little bit of heaven for my olfactory senses.
more in the “Trailer Saga” to come…
