The trailer is finally here.
This last Friday morning as the children and I were having coffee and cocoa my hubby called and said if you want any say in where the trailer goes you had better head up to the property now. Wha…?
Nick, the mover, had called and said he was on the highway ready to turn off on our road.Sure enough, my 8 year old started getting really excited and dancing around, “Mom, mom! Those trucks with the heavy load signs are coming by”! So, I packed up my 3 munchkins and made it the 1/4 mile down the road in 15 minutes. That has to be some kind of record for us!
It’s story time…
We lost Uno to a 22 bullet about 3 hours ago. You’ll remember that Uno and Dos are our pigs.
Two days ago Uno started limping on his back right leg. My husband got in the pen and pinned Uno to the side while my father-in-law had him around the neck. Holy Smokes, you’ve never heard a pig scream and cry so loud and so long. Thank goodness the kids were sleeping. It was nerve wracking listening to him scream. I thought they were “taking care” of him right then and there.
Done!
The trailer is now ready and waiting and we are waiting to have it moved. It was much easier cleaning it out and cleaning it up than I had imagined. The folks who had previous only had it one year before the husband had a stroke. Unfortunate for these good people and forutnate for me, it has been sitting unused in the resort for four years. My mother is in town and helped watch the kids, which made all the difference in the world.
The mover, Nick, is a nice guy and has been working with us for the last two months. He is saying he hopes to get started the beginning of the week. I CAN”T WAIT!! I have short-timers bad!
As of 12:35pm yesterday, the trailer is ours.
So is the rice cooker (& manual), toaster oven, hot pot, 30 year old microwave (& manual), coffee maker, three coffee carafes, numerous silver platters, electric tea kettle, numerous baking dishes, set of 5 mushroom canisters, dishtowels, washcloths, tons of hot pads, etc…. You name it. There are “treasures” here and there, set of 4 bone china bowls, china creamer, teapot & salt/pepper shakers, Tupperware cheese holder, Norwegian enamel-ware, metal colander, nut-chopper and more!!!
Please, don’t tell my hubby!
